PT Bank Danamon Tbk (IDX: BDMN) in 2015 recorded net profit of Rp2.39 trillion, dropped 8.08 percent from Rp2.60 trillion in previous year. Its operational profit rose 8 percent to Rp8.4 trillion, while cost-to-income ratio improved to 51.7 percent from 55.7 percent a year earlier, while its operating cost fell 8 percent to Rp9 trillion in 2015.

In the year, the bank posted loans of Rp129.37 trillion, edged lower by 7 percent, while assets edged lower 4 percent to Rp188.06 trillion.

Finance Director of bank Danamon Vera Eva Lim said the bank is optimistic would improve this year, therefore, the bank targets loan to grow by over 10 percent in 2016, while syariah unit financing is expected to grow higher by over 20 percent.

Last year, the bank’s syariah unit loan grew by 27 percent to Rp2.9 trillion from Rp2.3 trillion in previous year.

The bank’s loan to SMEs rose 5 percent in 2015 to Rp22.4 trillion from Rp21.3 trillion in previous year, while syariah loan, including to SMEs, grew by 27 percent to Rp2.9 trillion from Rp2.3 trillion a year earlier. Its corporate and commercial loan reached Rp17.7 trillion and Rp16 trillion respectively.

Its loan to micro business, known as Danamon Simpan Pinjam (DSP) totaled Rp14.6 trillion, down 23 percent from Rp19.0 trillion in 2014.

Its gross non-performing loans (Gross NPL) stood at 3.0 percent, below the maximum limit set by the central bank at 5 percent. Vera Lim said the bank will continue to maintain the quality of its assets through tight collection process and help companies in their recovery credit program. (*)
