Pertamina, Marubeni team up with GE to develop Java I power plant

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – consortium of Indonesia’s state owned company PT Pertamina and Marubeni of Japan have agreed to cooperate with General Electric of US to develop mega power plant Java I with capacity of 1,600 MW.

Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina Wianda Pusponegoro said GE will provide the technology for the Java I power plant, marking the entry of the Pertamina-Marubeni consortium in developing power plants in Indonesia.

The power plant will utilize combined cycle gas turbine to generate the power. GE will provide the latest power plant technology CCGR, namely 9HA technology which has been proven and has been widely used.  The technology has the capability to improve efficiency of the plant by over 61 percent. (*)
