Bank Indonesia holds BI rate at 6.5%

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Bank Indonesia (BI), the country’s central bank, has decided to keep benchmark BI Rate unchanged at 6.5 percent. The 7-day reserve repo rate was also kept unchanged at 5.25 percent

The decision was made by the central bank board after holding meeting for two days on July 20-21. The Deposit Facility rate was set at 4.50 percent and lending facility rate at 7.00 percent.

BI Executive Director for Communication Tirta Segara said the BI board made the decision after considering relatively stable inflation rate, the position of current account and relatively stable exchange rate. (*)
