JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesian shares are expected to edge down today ahead of the weekend as market players are likely to refrain from making active trade on concerns on US election as well as domestic security following major demonstration to be held in the city today.

On Thursday, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI fell 75 points or down 1.41 percent at 5,329.

Overnight, Wall Street socks ended lower. DJIA index fell 0.16 percent, S&P500 fell 0.44 percent and Nasdaq lost 0.92 percent.

Asjaya Indosurya expects the JCI to move within support level of 5,336 and resistance level of 5,488 points today. “The volatility of commodity price (oil) appears to undermine JCI movement, coupled with planned release of Indonesia’s Q3 GDP data as well as US election,” it said. Nevertheless, Asjaya still believes the JCI could potentially go up today.
